Convocation

Convocation is derived from the Latin word convocare meaning “calling/coming together,” At IITM Convocation is a graduation event held to mark the end of an academic session by awarding graduate degrees in a formal academic gathering. Distinguished people from  the University community, the chairman, the director, the faculty and the degree candidates all assemble together to celebrate the achievements of pass out students. All graduating graduate students are invited to the graduate convocation. Students receiving degrees wear their academic regalia and march in the procession.
